| About BIRDY
Bianca Bevard and Sharon Speziale became pals back in the early 90's after meeting at church. A youth retreat found them sitting on a beach in Saugutuck, Michigan one spring. Sharon took out her guitar, singing began, and beautiful harmonies came a-tumblin' out.
There are lots of good stories in between then and now, but we'll fast forward a bit...
After traveling different paths for a few years, Sharon and Bianca reconnected in late 2007 and formed BIRDY. Since then, they've played at books stores, coffee shops, folk music venues, pubs, private events, church gatherings, libraries, community centers, and even ice cream socials. In 2009, BIRDY welcomed Chicago-based percussionist Meg Thomas who brings a driving talent and wonderful new dimension to Birdy's already established sound. The three birds have an awfully good time together...more laughing is done than rehearsing, but we're guessing that's what makes it all work.
BIRDY performs a variety of music in beautiful two-part harmony. When you attend one of their shows, you can expect to hear Birdy originals, tradional folk tunes, neo-folk tunes, contemporary music in a stripped down earthy style, a random Beatles tune, and a few other things thrown in for good measure. Some of their influences include Joni Mitchell, Kate Rusby, Nanci Griffith, lullabies, the Appalachian Mountains, home town folk music hero Mark Dvorak, The Pickin' Bubs, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, The Wailin' Jennys, music they sang at church while they were growin' up, wind blowing in the trees, golden autumn days, and the hope of spring.

"Congratulations to Birdy on production and release of your CD, and continued great success! Not only your harmonies, but your guitar work - such polish! Also, I really like your stage presence and professionalism... oh those harmonies!! ~ Charlie Fischer
